View the most talked about beach in America, admire the Art Deco ambience of the 1930s and enjoy the spectacular world renowned nightlife, delectable dishes from the world's cuisine, as well as visit restaurants and clubs by Gloria Estefan, Madonna, Michael Caine and Sylvester Stallone.

Ocean Drive is one of the most popular spots in Miami. It's actually located in the city of Miami Beach in an area commonly referred to as 'South Beach'. South Beach is a buzz with sidewalk cafés, nightclubs, and beautifully restored Art Deco Hotels. Lummus Park which runs along the beach side of Ocean Drive attracts inline skaters, bicyclers, beach goers, afternoon domino players and a variety of others who love the excitement of this trendy district.

Miami Vice defined the ‘80s – cheap thrills, synthesized music, garish clothes, drug dealers. And while the show brought Miami’s thonged beachgoers, art deco hotels, cigarette boats and gleaming skyscrapers into our dreary living rooms each week, it's also been tough for Miami to live down the "vice" stigma.

Americans have flocked to Miami Beach since the 1950s to soak up the sun and be part of the fashionable nightlife. Set like a jewel on Florida's south coast, Miami is an eclectic mix of big-city business and world culture, as large groups of Jamaicans, Haitians, Cubans and other Latin Americans have immigrated here.

Celebrities such as Madonna and Sly Stallone have made the move to Miami Beach (both live near the Vizcaya Palace), and the ultra-fashionable South Beach, once merely a rundown strip of bars, is an area that is now becoming a center of style and fashion.

Miami is also a sports-loving city. Fans of the Miami Dolphins pack the stadiums every fall to see players like Dan Marino tear up the turf, basketball fans thrill to the excitement of the Miami Heat and baseball lovers flock to Joe Robbie Stadium to watch the Florida Marlins. Miami's exceedingly mild winters ensure sports and play year 'round.
